Appointments

Before requesting an appointment with one of our clinicians, it may be worth looking at our referrals page to check if a surgery appointment is needed for the service you require.

Non-urgent advice:

Please be advised that during your appointment, we kindly ask that you limit the discussion to one medical issue per visit. This will help us provide you with the best possible care and attention for each concern.

If you want to discuss another issue please book another appointment.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

How to Request an Appointment

You can request an appointment in the following ways:

Child Appointments

If your child is unwell, they will be triaged and seen on the same day if your GP considers it appropriate.

Booking an Appointment

Emergency appointments for the same day can be booked by calling in the morning between 8:45am and 9:45am from Monday to Friday. Routine appointments are available as per availability in the afternoons.

We also have an extended hours service. This is available on Wednesdays 6:30pm – 9:30pm, for those who cannot attend core hours due to work commitments. This is a telephone only service.

You can request an appointment in the following ways:

Urgent Medical Problems

Urgent appointments are for situations that cannot wait. You must ring anytime before 18:30. You will be triaged and accommodated accordingly.

We will try to deal with emergencies on the same day. You may be asked for your contact number details for the GP to call you back.

If your problem is very urgent and serious, or if you have had an accident or injury, you may wish to attend your local accident and emergency department, or call an ambulance by dialling 999.

Extended Access Appointments

Extended access appointments are available with limited availability. These need to be booked through the practice for times when we are not open.

Please speak to reception for further information.

You will not see your usual GP as this service is covered at a separate site with locum doctors only. They will have access to your medical records online if you book into the service.

Non-urgent advice: Extended Hours Service

Extended hours service is now on Wednesdays between 6:30 pm and 9:30 pm with our own GP via telephone. To be booked by calling the reception on 0161 2242452.

Transport Requests

The surgery is able in some cases to arrange transport for patients to attend their first hospital visit. The hospital will need to arrange the transport for any subsequent visits or follow-up. We will need at least five working days’ notice before an appointment to make the arrangements.

Cancelling an Appointment

If you are unable to keep an appointment please let us know as soon as possible. This may enable someone else to be seen.

Home Visits

Home visits are to be requested for house bound patients only.

If you are too ill to attend surgery, please telephone before 10.00am to speak with the Duty Doctor.

The doctor will phone you back at the end of morning surgery to assess the problem and decide if a home visit is necessary. Requests received after midday will normally be visited the following day unless medically urgent.

Emergencies will be attended to immediately.

Lack of personal transport is not a valid reason for a home visit.
